So short post today because I've got a headache and really just want to sleep. I had a regular day, work, tutoring, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers & Sisters. It was just a pretty quick day, and that's basically all there is to it.
Autism-wise the only thing that happened was a lack of sleep because I had been home alone. It's funny it happened since I actually did pretty well prior to last night. It's just because my mind can't just accept the fact no one is going to break in, seeing as how the only people who broke in once before was someone I considered my friend. So that's basically all tonight.
So I've been thinking these days, why do I write in this blog? I think to me it's a way for me to express how I'm feeling each day and the struggles I go through. Over the past seven months, you've seen me go from having the structure in which I told you all what I did at each hour and for how long and as you all know, it was boring and basically a snooze fest to read. However, upon bringing my blog over to Salon.com, I was challenged by the lovely people at Salon to break free of the constraints of my structured writing and just make the sky the limit. So that's what I did.
Now, because I've broken free, I can express whatever I'm feeling. Disappointment, happiness, boredom, anger (which I rarely express :P), or anything else on the rainbow of emotions. But one thing I've come to realize and understand is that I'm actually quite good at this writing thing. Thanks to a certain writer on Salon, my blog was submitted as an editor's pick, and he even showcased me on his own blog which I am deeply appreciative for. I also have picked up over 2,250 views on Blogspot, and over 1800 views on Salon, so in total, over 4000 views. I truly am thankful for my faithful readers because without you, there would be no reason to continue my blogging. I hope you will see me through the next several months of blogging as I plan to end this blog when I reach a year of posts on Salon, which should fall around January. This means to my readers on Blogspot that you still get me for another 8 months, which is four more than I was originally planning as I had intentionally planned for just a year on Blogspot (which would have finished in September). However, since I couldn't let myself just stop after only 8 months on Salon, I have decided to end this blog on January 3, 2011. I just felt I needed to insert these two paragraphs so you know. And yes, I do realize I repeated myself about continuing the blog twice :P.
My day itself was relatively uneventful. I worked with Chris as always, which we basically just finished up Night at the Museum and moved on to watching Bewitched (the Nicole Kidman film). It's kind of funny that I like this film, especially since the connection between Kidman and Ferrell is absolutely atrocious and it's no wonder they won a Razzie award for worst film couple the year this was released (I think it was 2006 or 07?). But oddly enough, I still enjoy it just because it's that bad, and also because I love both Nicole Kidman and Kristin Chenowith who co-stars in this movie. By the way, if someone ever tells you they're a witch, don't EVER tell them in response you're a "clippers fan". Just saying :P
Anyway, aside from that it was a pretty laid back day. I had some dinner, played some Assassin's Creed and yeah, that's about it. The autism thing was my repeating above, basically me lingering on a topic, and therefore going around in circles.
I apologize for constantly getting behind in these posts, but that's exams for you. Anyway it was a pretty boring day yesterday anyway. Work, which we just watched more of Dreamgirls, and then me studying for most of the rest of the night. The good news though was that Desperate Housewives was back so I at least got to see that. It was quite a shocker of an episode too.
Autism-wise, I think the only thing that really happened was me staying on the topic of Housewives too long and not knowing when I needed to stop.
Sorry about the late post again. I wound up going to bed just after 12AM as I had to get up really early to get to London and miss the storm that came in. Let me tell you, it's a whole LOT of snow that's going to be falling.
Using "Yesterday" I guess is how I'll do this post since it is Monday now. Anyway yesterday I woke about 7:45 or 8AM, I'm not really sure, but I got up and did my usual shower and teeth thing. My parents and I then headed to Dunn's for breakfast again before we headed back to the hotel, packed up our stuff in the car and started our trip back from Ottawa.
We got back from Ottawa to find that our heat in the house had been shut off because it had decided to break down. So now the heat was off meaning the house was really cold, resulting in us having to turn on the fire, use our space heater and also borrow a heater from my brother Troy just to try and warm up downstairs and my parents room. It should be fixed today but yesterday the technician told us he was going to have to order a part in order to get it fixed though they should be able to do it today so at least when I return home Friday we'll have heat again.
I basically then concluded my day with Housewives and Brothers & Sisters and then played Final Fantasy X for a short time before going to bed.
Autism-wise, I think the only thing that happened was that while speaking to my mom about a speech that is due today, I may have used the wrong tone and came off arrogant. I didn't mean to obviously, but I apparently did.
So I woke up at 12PM and got ready to head to London as I had a lot of things to do in London at school. My parents and I left at 2PM and headed to London.
At 4PM, I went to Fashion Show practice. I'm getting better at my walk, but I need to be more confident with my walk. The fact is I doubt myself and as a result, I walk slightly with less stride or confidence. I realize this is just a case of me having done things in the pass because of my autism, which causes constant doubts in me, and therefore it travels through all parts of my life.
After practice, I decided to head to a students' council meeting as I am going for Speaker again because A: I miss Students Council a lot, and I believe I have the nature that is needed to take control of meetings. I just hope that everyone else will have that confidence in me. I find it funny that while with fashion show I have little confidence, I have an immense amount of courage and confidence with council because I've done it for so long. I've seen flaws and things done properly, and I really know I can do this sort of thing.
Following council I headed to play rehearsal. It was pretty much a two and a half hour practice and that's all there is to say about that.
I then came home and watched Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters. Both were great episodes.
Hey everyone! So it was a busy, busy day. I woke up around 11AM and got ready for the day. My parents and I headed to London as I had an interview with the King's Students Council as I was going for the Communications Officer position. I really hope I did well as the position means a lot to me. If I don't get it, like I said in my interview, I will move on and persevere, but like I said I really do hope I get the position.
After the interview I headed home and just watched some television till 6:30. I then returned to King's for the Fashion Show practice, where we watched clips from Top Model and other runway shows. We then did our walk, and were taped for it so we can see how we did and will be getting critique/feedback when they send it out to us. Luckily everyone will only get their own, so we don't have to see them on Youtube. *laughs*
After the Fashion show practice I headed home, had dinner and watched Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters. And here we are.
So I was up extremely late studying my Personality Theory notes and then headed to the doctor's office at 9AM. IWhile there turns out I was right that I was worry about nothing.
I got home about 9:30 and fell asleep till 2PM. I then got up and finished up the last of my studying. I then finished up my speech for tomorrow's class.
Around 6:30 I headed to the model practice and I did okay but I need to work on not swinging my arms too much and relaxing my shoulders. I did apparently very well in the tryout but today it was just so-so, so basically I just have to improve.
After tryouts I headed home and watched Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters. I'm now about to head to bed hence the extremely quick post.
So today started at about 11:30AM I think when I went, had a shower and the other normal stuff. Once that was done with I had a cup of tea before heading to London with my parents. We dropped by Zellers to get some cleaning supplies, and then we headed to London. I had to head to London as I had play practice later in the night. I got to the house I stay at for the nights I need to be in London, and just hung out there for some time.
Once 8:30 rolled around, I headed to play rehearsal. We had to rehearse the ball game several times, and it went quite well. My "Jersey" accent, although I think it sounds Australian or at least close to that, sounds quite hilarious calling out about 'hot dogs' and such. Once that was done, I headed home and watched Desperate Housewives, Family Guy, and Brothers & Sisters and then headed into my room to study which is what I'm currently doing. Sorry that I posted after midnight, but I suppose it happens. Anyway, talk to you all tomorrow! Or....later today that is. :P Sean
Hey Everyone! So relatively boring day today. Slept till about 3PM today, not sure why, but I think my body was just trying to get some of the several lost hours I've lost in the past. After I did my whole shower/teeth thing, I then headed back to my room to study and such.
Around 8:30PM I headed to my play practice, and found out my Vendor role only really has like 3 lines which disappointed me. I think they needed to give everyone a fair shot, I just honestly feel that I have an immense amount of untapped talent, and I'm just not getting the chance to..."blossom" as I'll put it. I love acting with every fibre of my being, and yet, while I did say that the two directors are doing what is the best for their play, I feel sort of...I'm really not sure the word for it, I just feel kind of so-so about it. I guess I do just have to keep reminding myself though that there are no small parts, only small actors. I just can't help but feel that my acting skills are becoming more and more rusty, as my skills at acting are getting more and more rusty because I'm not being given that chance. Though there are still no small parts, I do have to say having more lines would really help me in improving my skills and being able to work on the really becoming a character. When you only have three to five lines, you don't get much chance to become someone. Though the acting is a big enjoyment of mine it is after all just a very fun past time that just lets me have fun with friends and enjoy life outside of school, so I can't really let it upset me too much, I just need to have fun! As you can see, my autism is sparking up once again because I can't help but get off this subject so I think I should probably stop now before I drone on and on and on. Once practice was done though I headed back home with Lauren and Ash.
While headed home, Lauren and I tried to figure out our movie date but the thing is, I'm worried about my mother. She'd like to do the movie night on the 13th, but if that's the case, then since I have play practice on the 8th, I'd have to stay from that week, until who knows when. The reason is because it'd be like the schedule below:
Sunday November 8th - Play Practice Monday to Thursday - School Friday November 13 - Movie Night with Lauren Saturday November 14 - KING'S BALL! Sunday November 15th nothing but the fact is it wouldn't make sense for my father to pick me up for one night with my parents and then have to be taken back for the next day for class. Then it'd be Monday to Thursday - School Thursday November 19 - NEW MOON (Twilight Saga) Friday November 20 - Saturday November 21 - Variety Show/24 Hour Theatre Sunday November 21 - Nothing but Parents are away so no return to St. Thomas and then Monday to Friday - School.
So frankly....I wouldn't see my parents for three weeks...I guess I'm just going to have to wait and see what my mother says tomorrow is all.
I then came home, watched television and of course Housewives and Brothers & Sisters and here I am.
Hey everyone! Another small post just to warn you all. I got up at about 1:30PM today because I just was extremely tired for some reason. I then watched television and studied for a bit until 5 when I had to work with Chris. My Mom was still not feeling well so I offered to go get her some food for dinner.
I went out and picked up Chris and took him to Wendy's again which is unusual for him as he at least changes restaurants for one of the three days I work with him. Once we were done at Wendy's I drove us to McDonald's to get my Mom the food she wanted for dinner and then headed home to watch more of Sisterhood 2. Following that I took Chris home and came back home to watch Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters.
Like I said, that's basically it, as it was going to be a short post. Okay everyone, talk to you tomorrow! Sean
WOW I cannot believe I forgot to post yesterday night. So sorry to my readers...which seem to be few as no one has yet to actually start following this blog. *glares*. Anyway what happened yesterday? Well I got up around 1:30PM and had to go and pick up a disc that had photos from my photo shoot with Lisabella Photography which turned out amazing. It's actually on my facebook but only a few pictures so far.
After picking up the disc I watched television for a large part of the afternoon, specifically Season One of Brothers & Sisters. I then had a family dinner with my parents which was very nice to catch up with my brother and sister-in-law who's due in two weeks. As well I saw both my grandfathers as well.
After this I went and hung out with one of my friends for a bit for coffee, and then headed back home. Luckily last night was the season premieres of Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters, both of which were suspenseful, happy, and tear-jerking which is something I love all the time. Other than that, I wound up staying up quite late, like 5, but actually I got to bed at 3 but was specifically woken up at 5am by my dog scratching due to the storm that had blown in. After that I finally got to bed.
I'm a 22 year old student at King's College at the University of Western Ontario. I've been a member of students councils for the past 8 years of my life, including Communications Coordinator and Website Commissioner. I'm in Psychology at Western, and have a big passion for acting. I'd love to get into movies if I could, but for now, I'm just living life and loving my friends and the productions I'm in at school :).
